Stop living flare to flare.
Gout specialists by video, same-day appointments, and a plan that actually brings your uric acid down.
Same-day telehealth visits with rheumatologists who specialize in gout: nutrition, medication, infusions, and second opinions.
Gout is more treatable than most people think
Gout is one of the most common forms of inflammatory arthritis, and one of the most undertreated. Many people cycle through flare after flare, managing pain as it comes instead of addressing the uric acid levels driving it.
It doesn't have to work that way. With the right treatment plan, most people with gout can reach a point where flares stop happening.
Our rheumatology department built this program to do exactly that: find the cause, lower uric acid to target, and keep it there.
Everything gout care needs, in one program
From a same-day video visit to infusion therapy at our Brooklyn location.
-
Telehealth consultations with gout specialists
Meet with a rheumatologist by video. No travel, no waiting room. Same-day appointments are often available.
-
Same-day uric acid testing at home
We send a technician to draw your uric acid level the same day. No lab trip, no week-long wait for results.
-
Nutrition and diet counseling
Work with our team to understand which foods and drinks drive your flares, and build an eating plan that fits your life, your culture, and your budget.
-
Medication management
From first-line therapy to newer options, we match treatment to your uric acid levels, kidney function, and other conditions, then adjust until you hit target.
-
Genetic safety screening
A simple blood test before you start allopurinol tells us whether it's the right medication for you, or whether we should choose another.
-
Advanced imaging when the diagnosis is unclear
Dual-energy CT can show uric acid crystal deposits directly, confirming gout without a joint procedure.
-
Infusion therapy
For patients whose gout hasn't responded to oral medication, we offer infusion treatment for severe and tophaceous gout.
-
Second opinions
Already seeing a doctor for gout? Bring us your labs and history. We'll review everything and give you a clear read on whether your plan is working.
-
Treatment for uncontrolled and refractory gout
Frequent flares, visible tophi, joint damage, or uric acid that won't come down: this is the gout we specialize in. Options exist even when previous treatment has failed.

Common questions
I'm in a flare right now. How fast can I be seen?
Often the same day. Call [PHONE] and tell the scheduler you're in an active flare. We hold slots for exactly this.
Can gout really be treated over video?
Yes. Gout management is driven largely by lab values, medication history, and a careful conversation about symptoms and triggers, all of which work well by video. If you need an in-person exam, joint aspiration, imaging, or an infusion, we'll bring you into our Brooklyn location.
Do I need a referral?
[No, you can book directly. / Yes, ask your primary care provider to send a referral to PHONE/FAX.]
What insurance do you take?
We accept [Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial plans] . If you're uninsured, our sliding-fee scale is based on your household income and family size. Call [PHONE] and we'll check your coverage before your visit.
What should I have ready for my first visit?
Any recent uric acid or kidney function labs, a list of your current medications, and, if you can, photos of your joints during a flare.
What if I've already tried allopurinol and it didn't work?
That's exactly the kind of case we want to see. "Didn't work" often means the dose was never raised to target, or that a different medication or infusion therapy is the right next step. Bring us your records.
